Recently, Greenlight Guru surpassed 1,000 customers using our platform - a milestone that wouldn’t be possible without each of you.
In 2013, when we started this company, we had days like today in mind. Medical device quality was trapped in the past. Paper-based quality management systems (QMS) were painful, risky, and inefficient. At the time, commercial QMS solutions had been available for nearly two decades, but only 30% of medical device companies were using them. None of these solutions were designed specifically for medical devices. We knew that by developing an industry-specific solution, medical device companies like yours could bring higher quality, life-changing products to market faster. We knew that, by shining a light into this industry, our company would serve as a beacon attracting the best and brightest to help us grow. Quality is a vibration that attracts more quality. We built this company to exude True Quality, and as a result, we’ve attracted incredibly high-quality talent and customers.
In the coming months, we will continue to build on this accomplishment. We have a lot of exciting things planned for 2023 and beyond, but for today, I want to talk about the impact of this milestone.
At Greenlight Guru, we talk about how pressure is a privilege, and this milestone puts that into perspective. Our end users aren’t just the teams that use our system, but also the patients who are recipients of medical devices developed through our quality system software. Each one of our thousand customers represents a device that will impact thousands of lives. Every time we sign a contract, there are lives on the line.
Speaking personally, I’m not just affected by this mission as the CEO of the company. I’m affected as a patient whose life was saved by medical devices just this year.
This year, I had major surgery. Being wheeled away from your family back to the operating room was a surreal, scary experience. In that room, there appeared to be somewhere between 30 and 50 medical devices that would determine whether I was wheeled back out of that operating room alive. Every day, there are thousands of people who have that exact experience. When I think of the work we do, I think of those people.
The Obligation We Have to Our Loved Ones
Our mission is to improve the quality of life for our customers and their patients. The more customers we have, the more lives are impacted. This is important to us. It drives us. We celebrate our 1,000th customer because we know that with each new customer, we have improved the quality of life for real people - a child, a parent, a co-worker or a friend. Our customer community is active and shares learnings, so with each new customer, we enable the medical device industry to advance.
At Greenlight Guru, we feel a sense of urgency to push our mission forward. This sense of urgency doesn’t come from a place of fear. It comes from a place of love, and we want to invite all of you to join in the push. We believe that together, Greenlight Guru, the thousand customers we have today, and the next thousand customers we earn over the coming years can truly improve the quality of life for everyone on the planet.
